Desert Cave This cave is set into the side of the sloping dry grasslands of the desert. Well hidden by the large, dark brown bushes, it provides a haven from the harsh sun and dry winds. The air inside remains warm but feels cool enough to prevent sweating. This place is considered the main den of the desert herd's leaders.

Dry Grasslands The grasslands peak on a sloping hill. On one side of this hill, the desert slopes down and out. On the other, the dry grass spreads. The grass here is brown and tough, and when eaten it cuts the tender mouth of equines. Even so, it is a sufficient meal for those desperate enough to eat it. As the grassland stretches, it becomes greener for it is not far from the river oasis.

Kata Oasis The oasis surrounds the Kata River, the sanctuary of the desert tribe. One of the many branches of the Zyxon River, the Kata supplies the ground around it with enough moisture to hold vegetation. Despite the harsh conditions of the desert, sweet grass grows around this river. Large, rough trees provide shade.
The Dunes The sand dunes stretch from each side of the Kata River. They spread from the western bank of the Kata, to the plateau marking the end of the canyon territory and the beginning of the desert territory.

Dead Horse Plateau Given its name for its unexpectedly steep drop, the plateau signals the border of the desert and canyon lands. The only way over it is a steep, zigzagging path down the face of the plateau.
