Fusion stared at the chesnut for a long moment. What a confounding creature. Looking in awe at the mare, his mind continued to turn over all its thoughts to find something to say back to her. "Just for future reference then dear. If this newcomer new that you were a lead mare I highly doubt that he would insult you unless he was trying to pick a fight. Which, most stags think they can win." Some brutes are obnoxious creatures.

I said that aloud. Damn. "Nothing.." Why not tell her? I already let lots of things slip? "Ugh. Ugh. UGH! Do not tell her! She will never understand! She is too prejudiced. Though, you can tell her I hate her. That would be rather interesting." She knows too much already. No matter if she's prejudiced, whether she knows it or not, I am willingly giving her information. Anyhow, you hate any living species that I meet. "Actually. I was talking to Lucifer and Ceera; devil and angel. Lucifer wished me to insult you; rekindle his pleasure. I said No. I have told you before, I control myself. That was me saying no, was it not dear?"

"You are captivated by me. it's easy to see dear. You can ask any questions you wish." "Very good choice dear, very good." "Yes, we are very unique. Though, not as much different. I don't know the answer to that, though I intend to find out. I speculate that I only know what they want me to know. And I know it doesn't make sense, I'm just as confused as you."

"No doubt we all will. Though they won't hunt you down..They will hunt down the Envious that have crossed over, and all the half-bloods. Not the purebloods; they will come after. You may catch them by surprise, but maybe not."

"No, no, no dear. Not you. Lucifer and Ceera. They constantly bicker with each other; being the angel and the devil. Of course they are opposites and continue to bicker. Ceera apparently is giving me information she shouldn't and Lucifer is upset. Also, they are partners or something of the sort..All very confusing." A sigh escaped him.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? You just gave away all our secrets! Scum! What scum you are! Useless pathetic ungrateful scum!" "Calm down Lucifer. You are just upset that he is coming to my side. Ah, dear you did the right thing. You can only hope that she responds with an open mind." "Thank You Ceera."

"I'll keep that in mind, love." Lullaby returned his gaze, unsure how she wanted to continue to respond to this stallion. She looked down at the strip over grass running through the center of the canyon. He was half-blood, a creature to be wary of. It was something that had been burned in her mind by her parents on countless occasions, especially in such instances as this when they would stand upon a ledge of the canyon and look below to the archway. They had not overlooked the fear and distress the vagabonds had brought with them upon crossing the path. No, they saw the danger.

The half-bloods had been only a part of the danger, but had been most prominent in her parents' minds for they were most capable of infiltrating the ranks of the Realm. One moment they could be on your side and the next they could be staring, laughingly, from the other side. Betrayal had been their fear. Betrayal to the Envious and the pain they would bring.

Lullaby breathed out, dislodging the unpleasant thoughts. She tried to replace them, tried to erase them.

"What?" One ear stood straight and listened the pleasant crash of the water against the walls. The other was turned toward him. Listening to his explanation, she turned thoughtful. Two halves and one whole he had said. Two halves; angel and demon; light and dark. An one whole, the one with full control and yet not so much control.

She stamped a foot. Stupid, mindless, and negative thoughts! Control! He said he had control! She would believe him and either be rewarded, or ripped apart.

"I wouldn't call it captivation, lovely dear. It's more curiosity." She trailed off, returning her gaze to him.

Bicker? These halves bickered? This amused her. She could imagine just how very frustrating and yet amusing, the situation must be for him. A laugh escaped her suddenly. She paused, coughing slightly, but couldn't help the laughter that rocked her body. Hysterics threatened to make her collapse in an ungraceful heap at his feet, but she managed to remain standing as her chuckles escaped her muzzle.

A slight nicker escaped his maw at her first syllables. "Take care that you do." Trying again, somewhat unsuccessfully to figure out the thoughts that ran about her illusive mind. "Dear, it displeases me so that I can't seem to know what you are thinking. I suppose it is because I know what three beings are thinking at the same time, so I am used to that sort of gratification." The unpleasant truth had escaped his equine lips, but then oddly ended in open speculation and wonder. What an odd equine I am..

"Do you understand what I have told you? Lucifer did say you would be to prejudiced to understand..But Ceera thought that you could prove him wrong, and usually I think Ceera is right in one way or another."

"Again with the speculation? You are not a scientific equine. You were made for battle! Get a grip, grow some bones! Do something." Ceera proceeded to laugh at Lucifers slightly desperate comments. "I never realized being your partner would be this amusing.." Partner? What is all this about?

As the feminine creature stamped at the hard rock below, wonder strolled through his mind again. "Ah dear, I really would love to know what runs through your mind.." The voice that penetrated the eerie silence was more of a mumble, softly spoken, as if to no one. As the creature spoke yet again his voice picked up to his regular tone of speech, "Well, still you may ask questions of my blood if you wish dear. I know you must be dying to know at least one thing." The tone ended in a slight teasing mockery. Oh, this is quite interesting..

When a quiet laughter left her body it startled his senses entirely. I did not realize I had said something funny...? All Fusion could do was gape at her awkwardly awaiting for her to speak.

Slowly, she managed to contain her laughter. A few chuckles escaped at random intervals, but for the most part she was ready to address his words.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I just," She coughed back another laugh, "couldn't help myself. If two halves inside my mind were arguing back and forth with me standing there and mentally gaping at them, I think I would just collapse. Imagining you in that position, even though I've only known you for a brief amount of time, is just too incredibly entertaining." She lowered her head and pressed her muzzle against her leg in an attempt to muffle her chuckles.

"I think it's better for the both of us that you do not know my thoughts. They tend to wander to the strangest places when I'm alone and they shut off altogether when I'm in an uncomfortable situation. And then, there are other things that a stallion just shouldn't be given the chance to know." A mixture between a snort and chuckle stopped her. Everything was turning into a big mess of hysterics.

"I can't say I completely understand. Lucifer and Ceera, they are your... halves? The two halves with your one whole? They have names... this is interesting." Lullaby mused thoughtfully. What an intriguing, and yet horrifying, thing. To have to put up with the incessant chatter of two halves fighting for your attention. Oh my.

"While you would like to know what runs through my mind, I'd like to know what exactly runs through yours. Interesting. It all seems very interesting. I would like to know one thing, yes. But it is not about your blood. Simply, why did you pick the canyon of all places to stay? There are many other beautiful lands in the Realm, though assuredly the canyon is the most exquisite."

As the mare regained her composure slightly his gape died down some. "You are entitled to that laughter, after what you have learn, though I don't necessarily think it is funny..Though I bet it is because I grew up with them.. I'd love to see that mental picture of yours. I can't get at it from your perspective, though I have many to choose from." A smirk crossed his intricately carved features.

"Well, as you have said previously, though in not so many words..This is an awkward situation, so you wouldn't be thinking anything, but you clearly are. Which, I would love to know at least some of what you are thinking, it does bother me slightly, like a horsefly that you can't swat away with the simple flick of the tail. I know there are edges of your mind I would think are horrible to venture to, I only want to know some things.." "The mare looks like she is going to collapse from something...Quite odd, if I may say so." "Yes! Now is the time to strike!" I do not need either of you bothering me right now, unless you are going to tell me about this partnership thing.. They both sighed and slunk back to their rightful corners of their mind.

"That they are..That they are..It is quite interesting. They are partners in something too, but they refuse to tell me." Another sigh escaped his lips, she wasn't making this worth his while. Maybe I should just stop telling her altogether..

"You can have a window, and I will answer as truthfully as I can-" Depending on the question.. "Of all places? You said it yourself, it is the most beautiful and it is too, in my eyes. The sea below; crashing like a lullaby. The caverns; hidden in the depths of the walls, like little mysterious labyrinths. The cliffs; kissed gently by the sun, yet precariously high, for any brave soul wishing to peer down on the unsuspecting equines. The slight strip of green, covering parts of the bottom floor. The presence of a powerful herd to watch over the incoming and outgoing; having a power over the path, the only on the island who do. The redness of a piece from my inner soul being welcome and seen by all. It justs seems like a place I could call home, a welcome, beautiful, wonderfully barren place; I love. My personality suits this place perfectly, I was immediately drawn to this place the moment I stepped over the boundaries." A slow chuckle interrupting his careful brooding. "Is that adequate for you?"

Lullaby smiled thoughtfully. This stallion was interesting when he wasn't hurling about claims like a headstrong colt. "My mental picture is my own, love. I do not think you would find it all that amusing. The image in my mind would only trouble you more as it is surely the very thing you imagine as these voices speak in your head."

"What areas of my mind would strike you as horrible? The prejudiced pieces? Yes, those could be quite a bother for someone of your lineage." She trailed off, feeling sheepish for her own hateful thoughts towards half-bloods. Beliefs that had been instilled in her for so long could not be washed away so simply, but she wished they could.

"Partners in something?" At this, she became thoughtful. Two sides of a mind with a purpose unknown to the one they inhabited? How strange and yet incredibly intriguing. "Do you have any ideas? Could it be they're partnered for the prophecy of your life?"

When he had described the canyon, twisting his beautiful words to match the beauty of the canyon, her breath caught in her throat. Her heart pounded a little as he detailed each piece of her beloved home with delicate care. It was like he was making a verbal sculpture, beautiful and untarnished. A soft, shy smile graced her lips and she nodded slowly. "Incredibly adequate, love."

((Wargh. Sorry it took me so long. I started writing this post on Thursday but I was in school and the bell rang. I haven't been on because I got super busy for this weekend... but here it is finally!))

Fusion listened to the mares words carefully, awaiting for a response to come to him. She was confusing him, acting different all the time, like she was a half-blood. This time, even her words confused him. As soon as he could gargle up a reply, he wiped the confusion off his face and replaced it with a calm facade. "That's fine dear. Well, I would find it amusing no matter the image, I would love to see what you think of this whole situation. In fact, I might even laugh at your image, dear. Depending on what it is, I see why you would think I might not like to see it, but honestly all I want to do is see it." He could not answer her last statement, for he could take that in different ways. Good or bad, he didn't need either.

"I believe you can think of some areas on your own, dear. Yes, those would intrigue me at first, then it may not be so fun as to rummage through them. If that's what you are prejudiced about then it would bother me as you say. Though, if you were prejudiced about, say, purebloods, purebloods would be bothered, I imagine." A slight smirk crossed his features from his rather lengthy reply. He turned his dial away from the mare, awaiting her next statement. He had to decide if he should continue telling her about the half-blood race, or not.

"Yes, Ceera announced they were partners." "I did not necessarily announce this.." "Ceera," The devil sneered. "You did announce this. You've told him too much! Do not bother to tell him anymore, and you, Fusion. Do NOT tell her anymore. She does not need to know. You are supposed to rid the world of her sun kissing being. Do not help her along on this unwelcome path. She is the scum of the Earth. Do not bother with her. " Ceera chuckled slightly hysterically. "Ah, dear Lucifer. You do not even realize what you are telling him do you? He is going to find out some day, now isn't he? Why not make this the day?" "No." Lucifer's voice was flat out terrifying, seething the far corners of his mind. Hold up. What is this I am supposed to find out? And partners? What is all this nonsense? At the moment, I don't think I want to bother with you Lucifer. It was Fusions turn to sneer. He worded his thoughts carefully, in an attempt to leak out some information from the uncontrollable Lucifer. "Holy Hell Fusion!! Do you not see it yet? You rely on me so much, just as much as you rely on Ceera, no matter how much I beg to differ." Ceera, what is he talking about? "We might as well tell him..." When no response came from Lucifer, Ceera proceeded to prepare for the story ahead.

"You see Fusion...We are Guardians. I was the Guardian for your mother, and Lucifer, your father. We become paired with the offspring. Do you understand that now?" I do understand that..But, who in the world decided on this? "Another time.." Surprisingly, Lucifer had answered the question, though not really an answer. He sounded as if in defeat.

Shock and awe spilled through his features. A sigh released from his lungs, and he looked at the mare, as if trying to see if she heard this revolution too. His look would be all the answer she would get, for he found he could not answer after this. He looked at her, pleading for something, though he did not know what he was pleading for. Then, a strangled thought struck him, What if they are lying?

His being quickly became angry. Flames licking at his feathers, smoke erupting from his nares, auds laid flat back against his skull. He was enveloped in anger, though he did not even know if it was a lie or not. He vowed to find the truth, from someone. Focusing on something to take his anger upon, a large boulder came to his view. It was quickly covered in blistering flames, cackling upon their foe.

He felt like he barely heard her next words, barely saw her soft smile, barely noticed her presence next to him. His head whipped around, nares still flaring. He spoke harshly, though trying to rein in his anger. "I'm very glad, it is an extraordinary place to be. I am captured by its beauty so very much." His tone and his words did not match at all, his words were meant to be soft and light, though his tone was grisly and dark.

OOC;; Wargh? Tis ok Crixy :) I just hope my reply is adequate as well xD

Lullaby watched the shock and awe overtake the features of the stallion. She watched him sigh softly. She returned his gaze when he looked to her, trying to physically convey the emotions inside of him. But she could not understand, because she had not heard the revelation given to him by the spirits. No, she could only stare in bewilderment at the look upon his face that held so many flitting emotions. The pleading look in his eyes confused her. She did not know what he desired of her.

And then as quickly as all those emotions had come, they faded into one singular entity. Fury consumed him, blazing in his eyes. Flames licked at his pelt and attacked pieces of the canyon. An all encompassing rage scorched her. Not in the literal sense, but in the mind. Her nostrils flared and her head came up fully. She switched her body into a defensive stance, giving loose control to her power in case of emergency.

The words he spoke sent shivers down her spine. A part of her, the part that was mentally screaming in fear, flashed across her mind and for that split second, had brief control. Violently, she shoved back that fear and let a strange calmness take over her mind. It had been drilled into her brain that a calm mind won fights. A calm mind help the upper hand.

"Now, love... what causes you such anger? Why do you set this place you love afire? Peace, dear. Tell me the trouble." Her tone was soothing and sweet. She was trying her best to calm the burning embers in his eyes.

Fusion felt her orbs sear his flesh, he felt her emotions, he knew exactly where she stood. But he could not bring himself to look at her. She had unknowingly uncovered a vital piece of information, that may or may not be a lie. He had absolutely no clue how he could go about finding the truth. Mutters fell like waterfalls from his scorching lips, "Maybe I could find another half-blood? Maybe I could just ask them? What if they have some secret pact with other spirits, to tell that they are Guardians? What if they are lying? But, what if it is the truth? Could she help me find it?" With his last question, he peered up from under his eyelashes to look at the mare, though not at her eyes, he couldn't. Not even her ravishing dial.

He felt her presence change, throughout his continuously changing presence. He knew how to be aware of others emotions, something he had picked up by being a loner. He felt a change in her presence once more, he flashed a quick glance her way, only to find her crown had shot into the air. He kept his head low, making an attempt to control his undesired rage.

After a few long moments of battling with his strangest emotion, it was controlled enough for him to speak. Though he could still not look at the fae, his fears may be realized. His power...It could kill her. His auds shot forward as her soothing voice wandered the air, caressing his ears. He let her words sink in quietly, awaiting his mind to calm, and think of something to say.

"Dear," His voice sounded fragile, yet impeccably soft. "Ceera, and Lucifer. They are the culprits for my undesired anger. Little did you know, you may have uncovered a whole new area of unspoken grounds." He ignored her question about the cackling flames, that had since disappeared, only to leave a pile of black where the rock once stood.

"Fusion, do not tell her. She is not meant to know." "Does she really need to find out this way?" YOU are siding with HIM? How dare you Ceera?! That is never supposed to be! You are the Angel! You can't do this! This is blasphemy at it's highest degree! You are a higher being! You cannot do this! His mind went silent after his reverie. None dared to speak. After a long few moments, Lucifer spoke solemnly, "Dear Fusion, we are not what you think. I am the essence of the Envious, Ceera is the essence of the pureblood. We only appear at times of great peril to a pure of any race. Then there are the half-bloods, such as yourself, where our presence is commanded. You need both halves if you are to survive." Fusion found, yet again, he could not reply. He was to struck with bewilderment to even say anything. "Fusion, we are the Guardians of your soul. That is true, I swear on my soul." "You don't even have a soul." "Contrary to popular belief, we do have souls, it is our souls that reside in your mind, along with yours."

Again, he looked at the fae from under his eyelashes, this time raising his head to face her full on. "The trouble is, I have discovered a great secret." His voice rang with majesty, floating on the slight breeze. That was all he would say for the moment. She could pry, if she dared. He still had not made his choice, he was prolonging it to the very end.

He would not look at her. His eyes would peer up at her, but they never made contact with her own glowing irises. Mutters issued from his lips. Incoherent words interrupted the tense silence that had befallen them after she had spoken. She could make out whispered bits and pieces. Most of it, what she could tell, was directed to himself or possibly the beings inside him.

A slow exhale escaped from behind her lips and she lowered her head. "I will help you in whatever way I can. All you need is ask." The thought that the words were so easily given from her, puzzled her. Minutes ago she had been willing to fight for her position of lead mare in the canyon, and now she offered her help so carelessly. Such reckless consent could scorch her in the end.

"Tell me this secret. As I've said, I'll help in what way I can."

(( Wargh again...))

All Fusion could do was stare miserably up at the ess. His blackened eyelashes trying to guard the welling tears. Though his eyes bespoke of nothing, the liquid film gave away his inner soul. He was falling out of life, out of his soul. Out of all the souls of is body.

His mind was dying to escape this horrid happening. It searched franticly for an opening of a new start, a new head, a new home. Everything was melting, his inner self was ripping itself apart. He couldn't control the tearing sounds that exited through his lips. He didn't feel the wet texture that slid across his dial. Life was unbearable at this point.

His name had truly shown through at his now, last moments. Capability to do the act wasn't even a problem. The Nuclear Fusion that was going on underneath his shell was deciding for him. His insides were reacting horribly to this newly found torture. He could hear the screams of dying horses..Dying on the Envious side..He felt the presence of the Envious raging in his blood. Yet, they were oddly calmed by the presence of another, happier force. The Purebloods. The reaction was not a normal reaction. It seared his flesh, burning his desires to ashes.

He heard the temptress speak again, though his ripping sobs quickly drowned out her words. He supposed they were supposed to be comforting, or perhaps prying. His "other souls" at this point had dissipated. Completely wiped from his being it seemed, yet obviously he was not an expert on such matters.

The ground beneath the two equines became soft. As soft as the tears that flowed freely from his crystal spectacles. The earth was disappearing along with his spirit. It encircled his legs in a warm casing, dragging him down slowly. It only prolonged the horrid matters ahead. Though he knew not what matters these were, he didn't wish to meet them. He willed the quicksand to envelop his tone figure faster and faster, though the speed did not change for him. Only for the struggling beast of an Envious creature that resided within his dormant heart.

His life had not moved along very far. He had claimed nothing; no land, no mares, no mate, nothing. A bottomless abyss of a solid black. This was not a deranged creature standing before you. No, this equine was anything but deranged. He only wished for his problems to disappear, for his lineage to stray behind him. To start anew. This wondrous canyon was the place he had chosen, the only place he could not have..The only place he wanted.

Was it the only thing he wanted? Did he want his pureblood side to shine through this darkest hour and save him? Did he want this gorgeous, silken vixen to save him? Did he want to find something? What did he want? He didn't even know. He had been to ruled by his lineage to even decide for himself.

He may have fooled the temptress, but he could not fool himself. With this thought rekindled, his cries of pain began to become more pronounced. Sounding throughout the canyon, bouncing harshly off the blood stained walls. The cries did not come from his mind oddly enough, but from his heart. His cold, dormant, black, crippled heart. He hadn't had a heart before this point in time. Why was it so different now? He had willed this many times before. What was so different?
